Coaching
philosophy

My goal is to see athletes overcome obstacles to achieve their goals. The modern-day athlete needs to balance many commitments from outside the athletic sphere, including work and family. The landscape for the training athlete is littered with a multitude of options and opinions. A good coach uses experience to navigate the best path to success.

Testimonials

What athletes are saying

"This year, I beat my last year's time at Santa Cruz 70.3 by 9 minutes. My age-group ranking jumped from 41st to 23rd. And, even more amazingly, I achieved this by having both a significantly faster swim and bike leg. Running has always been my stronger sport, and I was elated after Liza helped me achieve a 2:52 at the California International Marathon last year and score a slot at the 2026 Boston Marathon. But triathlon has always been a tougher nut to crack. I needed to swim and ride faster while managing life and an ambitious marathon schedule. Liza not only let me fully explore my potential in running, but also devised an ingenious, executable plan to help me become a much more capable swimmer and cyclist, as this year's Santa Cruz result proved. These achievements were long in the making, and whenever I experienced the inevitable setbacks, Liza was always a text or a call away, making sure that I stayed on track and allowed my body the recovery it needed. I could have never imagined achieving any of these successes without you, Liza."
